Originally a one night only ensemble of trumpeter and flautist Roy Campbell, Jr., violist Mat Maneri, pianist Marilyn Crispell, and bassist Joëlle Léandre that performed a benefit concert in New York in 2006, the Stone Quartet met again, resulting in another powerful CD, Live At Vision Festival. The rich sonorities and the improvisational fervor of these distinctive individual talents results in a vigorous and absorbing display of instant composition.
